Important Information for Year 11 Parent/Carers.

Dear Parent/Carer

As you are aware Year 11 are entering the final year of their GCSE examinations which take place in the summer term 2020. The recent mock examinations have shown that there has been some progress and hard work prior to the exams but additional support is required.

In order to ensure that year 11 achieve the best possible outcomes, targeted Year 11 pupils will be expected to attend Period 6 intervention sessions from 14:40 until 15.15 on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday each week. The intervention sessions are designed to ensure that students complete their controlled assessments to the highest possible standard and learn the revision techniques required in order to prepare for the exams. Each week teachers will request time with targeted students and this will be relayed to the students prior to the revision session.

In order to support students with their revision, subjects have provided pupils with revision resources, guides or workbooks. These can be used along with revision websites. Please see overleaf for further details.

May I take the opportunity to remind you that our first year 11 parents evening is on Thursday 12th December between 15:00 and 17:00. If you are unable to attend please contact the Academy in order to arrange an alternative appointment time.

We look forward to working together in order to support our students in achieving their best possible outcomes. If you have any queries please contact Mrs Gee (Head of Year 11) Mr Baines or Mrs Warhurst (Deputy Headteacher) who are working closely with year 11.

Yours sincerely,

Neil Reynolds
